Why is Your Internet Slow?

Google Buzz

You have taken the best internet connection available, yet you are not satisfied with the service of the connection. Every time, when you browse a page or want to download something, you have to wait for long. Such internet speed is irritating.

There are numerous factors, which reduce speed of your internet connection. In this article, we have provided information about some common reasons which are responsible for slow internet connection.

Presence of Viruses, Spyware and Adware
– Viruses, Spyware and Adware are responsible not only for computer’s slow speed but also for slower internet connection. Nonetheless, many of them come as Internet Speed Monitor but these malevolent programs play a crucial role in making your connection slower. These malwares come as hidden pack with other computer programs and get installed on PC without any difficulty. Later they shower pop up ads while one tries to browse a web page, which cause an effect on bandwidth of the connection. This results in a poor internet connection. Hence, to get a better connectivity, you must remove these malwares from your computer immediately.

Use of Bandwidth for more than one computer – When bandwidth is used for more than one PC, the internet speed automatically reduces.  This is something like a traffic jam in freeways, when people intend to use only the freeway to commute. Similarly, if someone else is using your bandwidth, you will get a slower internet connection. You must keep a check on diversified use of internet at home. Generally, kids tend to play online videogame with other online users; this consumes a lot of bandwidth. Online movie, VOIP phones and online music listening also eat-up a chunk of bandwidth; thus, internet speed gets slowed. If you are using a Wi-Fi service, chances are more that your bandwidth will be consumed by others. Nonetheless, many times, this is not done intentionally but some wireless cards are designed to connect automatically to the nearest available network. You can avoid this by logging into router’s page using a web browser.

Clogging up of Cookies – This is one of the most common reasons for slow internet speed. To avoid it, you may consider regular deletion of cookies from your PC.
