There are many automated tools that are designed to help parents in setting restrictions over their computer to prevent their kid from free access of internet and PC. With such service, you can also be enabled to limit the computer surfing hours of their kids. Known as ‘Parental Control,’ it gives you full control over your computer and helps you in restricting kids to watch certain videos, play certain games and run unauthorized programs.

This is an optional feature that filters the content. It roughly falls into different categories which are respectively –

Content filters – this limits access to age-appropriate content.

Usage controls – this constrains the usage of computer by putting a time limit on it. With it, you can decide about the period when your kids can work on the computer.

When parental control is implemented on a computer, a notification is displayed on the PC, stating about the particular program, which has been blocked. So, whenever your child would be clicking on particular program or game, program would ask for permission.

Parental control can be configured on PC using administrator account and every user, for whom, you are going to activate this control, must have a standard user account.

In this article, we have discussed how parental control can be configured on a PC with Windows 7 operating system.

* Click the Start button to go Start Menu. Here, you need to choose ‘Control Panel Option.’
* Now click on ‘All Control Panel Items.’
* Now you can click on ‘Parental Control.’
* Here, you may need to provide an administrator password. Now type the password and provide confirmation, this will open the window.
* Now click on standard user account, for which you want to set parental controls.
* Now click on ‘Parental Settings On’ and enforce current setting.
* Once after implementing parental control over the particular account, you may adjust different individual settings. Such as, time limit, program access, internet use etc.

It is very easy to put control over your devices and prevent your kids from excessive use of PC and living a more social life.
