  • Right-click on the Computer option on the start menu.
  • Open Control Panel, and go to System and Maintenance, and then System.

In Windows Vista, you will find the “System” utility in Control Panel (System and Maintenance section) and in the left panel of the System screen; you will be finding “Advanced System Settings.”Now click on both, which will be opening “User Account Control” dialog box with a ‘continue’ tab.

In “Computer Name Changes” dialog box, you need to enter a new computer name and click on the [OK] button.

  • First click on “Start” button and then on “Control Panel.”
  • Now double-click on “User Accounts.”
  • This will be followed by a click on “Change an account,” then click the account name that you would like to change.
  • Now click on “Change the name.”
  • To give a new name to the user profile, type the desired name and you can also set a password for the same.
