Last week, some of office 2003 users found that it is difficult for them to open files that are including Microsoft right-management protected materials. 2003 version of Microsoft word was showing an error message while opening or saving such files. It was visible as “Unexpected error occurred. Please try again later or contact your system administrator.” Nonetheless, other version of the software such as, 2007 and 2010 beta versions were not causing problem with the files but Microsoft immediately provided a patch work for fix the bug.
Information right management is a very dynamic feature of Microsoft Word. Curbing plagiarism and resisting forwarding of sensitive document, this technology allows document creators to set permission on content, which prevents the document to be forwarded and distributed easily.
